A neck herniated disc means a spinal cushion has bulged or ruptured, potentially pinching a nearby nerve. This can cause pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness radiating into the neck, shoulder, or arm. Often due to wear and tear or injury, treatment aims to relieve pressure and may include rest, physical therapy, medication, or targeted injections like an epidural steroid injection to reduce inflammation. Managing posture and activity can also help.
