Osteoarthritis, often called "wear-and-tear" arthritis, occurs when the protective cartilage in your joints gradually breaks down, leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced movement. While common with aging, managing symptoms through exercise, weight control, and various therapies can significantly improve comfort and joint function.
