Ureteral Stents

Ureteral stents are thin, flexible tubes placed in the ureter (the tube connecting the kidney to the bladder) to help urine drain from the kidney to the bladder. They are often used to relieve blockages, such as from kidney stones, or after surgery. While in place, it's common to experience increased urinary frequency, some bladder discomfort, or mild flank pain, especially during urination. Staying well-hydrated is important. Stents are temporary and will be removed by your doctor.
