BPH, Enlarged Prostate

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), or enlarged prostate, is a very common, non-cancerous condition where the prostate gland grows with age. This growth can press on the urethra, causing urinary symptoms like frequent urges, a weak stream, or waking up at night to urinate. It's often managed through lifestyle adjustments, medications, or, in some cases, minor procedures to help you feel more comfortable.

Through this page, I hope to empower your decision-making and your ability to formulate a joint plan-of-care with your doctors. Though patients may share a similar diagnosis, the ability to provide an individualized treatment plan is based on personal goals and nuances. A treatment for the exact same condition is often vastly different between patients. It can also take significant time to understand a condition, and this will evolve over time. By providing these resources, my hope is you can save this page and reference back to it to guide your own health journey and learn more about urologic issues.
